HoneyComb capping is the capping cut from sealed honeycomb. When honeycomb is capped, honey is much more fragrant. This is because bees use a special substance containing the secret of wax and other glands of bees, propolis and pollen to seal honeycomb. So comb capping is a whole bunch of bee products, an extraordinary natural complex of biologically active substances. The products it contains enhance the therapeutic effect of each other.

Chewing comb capping is useful in many ways. It causes intense salivation, which increases the secretory and motor functions of the stomach. Comb capping components improve metabolism, have a positive effect on blood circulation and muscle performance while the wax strengthens the gums.

It is recommended to chew one tablespoon of comb capping for 5-10 minutes four times a day. The overdose or accidental ingestion are not dangerous, as it is easily digested in the stomach and is good for the mucosa. Comb capping boosts immunity to diseases of the respiratory tract which persists for three or four years.

The American naturopath D. C. Jarvis emphasized the medicinal properties of comb capping. Of interest are his practical recommendations for treatment of sinusitis. Inflammation of one or more of the sinuses usually develops very quickly and requires treatment. It is recommended to chew comb capping for 15 minutes hourly within 4-6 hours. The chewed mass should be thrown. In acute inflammation of the nasal mucosa, it is enough to have one course of the treatment described above for half a day or the whole day. The sinuses are cleaned well and the pain stops. The sinuses return to the normal condition. It is recommended to chew honeycomb once a day within the following week to prevent relapse.

For the prevention purposes, it is recommended to chew comb capping and take one or two spoons of honey at every meal. This is very likely to prevent sinusitis, influenza and the common cold.

                                                         Anty-Cancer activities of Raw Honey

Honey is known for centuries for its medicinal and health-promoting properties. It contains various kinds of phytochemicals with high phenolic and flavonoid content which contribute to its high antioxidant activity. Agent that has strong antioxidant property may have the potential to prevent the development of cancer as free radicals and oxidative stress play a significant role in inducing the formation of cancers. Phytochemicals available in honey could be narrowed down into phenolic acids and polyphenols. Variants of polyphenols in honey were reported to have anti proliferative property against several types of cancer.

                                                            Weight Loss

The latest theory based on the hibernation diet also builds a link between fructose-rich honey and weight loss. It suggests taking a generous spoonful or two of honey at night, either as a warm drink or straight from the jar, and promises to help us sleep and lose weight at the same time by fueling the liver, speeding up fat-burning metabolism and easing stress hormones. Instead in the supermarkets we're being sold a pale imitation of natural honey - with most of the goodness processed out. For instance, out of over 30 different honeys I counted at my local store yesterday only one was raw and would have contained all these compounds. At other supermarkets and even a health food shop there was no raw honey. Almost all honey in stores that labeled "raw" is not raw. Yet most shoppers aren't aware of this because the choice available at supermarkets seems so big, and the discerning shopper may think that the organic honey is equivalent to raw honey.

If you really want natural honey, with all the natural benefits, you're faced with a problem.  Whether you or I like it or not the big honey producers are emasculating one of the finest natural substances known to man - and we're not even being given the choice of buying it in its natural unprocessed form in most stores.

More than 90 % of the honey sold in US grocery stores is not exactly what the bees produce.
